Solergie Nanogrids in use in Guinea-Bissau by FRES (Foundation Rural Energy Services).

FRES is a Dutch non-profit organization that promotes electrification in rural Africa by establishing commercial electricity companies under local management.
The FRES Energy Store in Catió, Guinea-Bissau supported the plan of a group of female entrepreneurs who sell vegetables and refrigerated products on markets around Catió.
They wanted to create a shared cooling area, powered by solar energy, to keep their products cool.
They currently purchase their refrigerated products from a third party.
This shared facility would reduce their costs and increase their revenues.
FRES has been able to realize this plan with a SOLERGIE nanogrid that provides each refrigerator with electricity.
Each of the women can keep track of their individual energy consumption, as some have already invested in solar-efficient refrigerators and are encouraging others to do the same.
The cold store is located at the FRES energy store so that the store manager can keep an eye on it while the women trade in the markets.
